Installation Guide

Follow these simple steps to install Smart Form Notifications and start automating your email alerts directly from Google Forms.

Step 1: Open Marketplace Listing

Visit the official Smart Form Notifications page on the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install to begin.

Step 2: Authorize Permissions

On the next screen, click Continue to grant the required permissions. Choose the Google Account you wish to use and allow access when prompted.

Why permissions?

Smart Form Notifications requires access to your Google Forms and Gmail to send automated alerts on your behalf.

Privacy First

Your data remains secure within your Google Workspace environment; form responses are not stored on external servers.

Step 3: Launch Add-on

Once installation is complete, open any Google Form to access the tool.

  • Click the puzzle icon (Add-ons menu) in the top bar.
  • Choose Smart Form Notifications from the list.
  • Click Open to reveal the sidebar on the right.

Important: Account Switching Issues

If you are logged into multiple Google Accounts in the same browser (e.g., a personal Gmail and a work account), the sidebar may fail to load correctly.

Method A:Log out of all Google accounts, then sign back in using only the account intended for Smart Form Notifications.
Method B:Alternatively, open your Google Form in an Incognito or Private browser window and sign in there.
