Mail Provider
In Smart Form Notifications, your "Mail Provider" is the engine that sends your automated messages. By default, the add-on works seamlessly with your existing Google infrastructure.
1. Default Provider: Gmail
The add-on primarily uses your Gmail account to deliver notifications, leveraging your personal or professional Google account permissions.
No Third-Party
You do not need external services like SendGrid or Mailchimp for standard notifications.
Sent Items
Notifications are sent through your account and can usually be found in your Gmail "Sent" folder.
Security
Your data stays within the Google Workspace environment, ensuring high privacy standards.
2. Email Aliases (Pro Feature)
Premium license holders have the flexibility to change the "From" address to provide a more professional appearance for their business.
Send as Alias
Configure the add-on to send from a different email alias associated with your account (e.g., support@yourcompany.com).
White-label Branding
Premium users can remove the "Sent via Smart Form Notifications" branding from the email footer.
3. Quotas and Limits
Since the mail provider is your Google account, the number of emails you can send depends on your specific Google Workspace edition:
| Account Type | Daily Sending Limit (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Personal Gmail (@gmail.com) | Up to 100 recipients/day |
| Google Workspace (Business/Edu) | Up to 1500 recipients/day |
Note: These limits are shared across all forms and add-ons connected to your Google account.
Troubleshooting Mail Delivery
Enable Gmail
Ensure the Gmail service is active for your Google account or domain.
Check Quota
Monitor the quota bar at the bottom of the sidebar to ensure you haven't exceeded your daily limit.
Multiple Accounts
Ensure you are not logged into multiple Google accounts in the same browser, as this can interrupt the connection.
