Common Error Messages

While Smart Form Notifications is designed for a smooth experience, you may occasionally encounter errors typical of Google Workspace add-ons.

1. Authorization & Loading Errors

These are often related to Google's handling of multiple accounts or session timeouts.

"Authorization is required to perform that action"

The Cause

Your Google session has timed out or you are logged into multiple Google accounts simultaneously.

The Fix

Log out of all Google accounts and log back into only the one used for the add-on, or use an Incognito/Private window.

Blank Sidebar or "Drive Refused to Connect"

The Cause

Known Google issue caused by account conflicts in the same browser session.

The Fix

Refresh the page and wait 10 seconds. If it persists, use a dedicated Chrome Profile for that specific email account.

2. Sending & Quota Errors

Issues encountered when dispatching emails through your Gmail service.

"Daily email quota exceeded"

The Cause

You have reached your daily sending limit (100 for personal Gmail, 1,500 for Workspace).

The Fix

Wait for the 24-hour reset period or upgrade your Google Workspace plan to increase your limit.

"Exception: Service Gmail failed"

The Cause

Temporary outage in Google's services or an incorrectly formatted recipient email address.

The Fix

Check the Execution Logs to identify the specific recipient causing the failure and verify their email address.

3. Trigger & Workflow Errors

Errors occurring when the automation trigger fails to fire correctly.

"Form is Inactive / Trigger Not Found"

The Cause

The global automation trigger has been disconnected.

The Fix

Go to Global Settings, toggle the Active Status to OFF, and then back to ON to recreate the internal link.

Emails Not Sending for Specific Responses

The Cause

Conditional Logic is too strict or contains a typo (e.g., case sensitivity).

The Fix

Review your Conditions tab. Ensure the value (e.g., 'Marketing') exactly matches the text in your Google Form.

Test the add-on in a private window to rule out browser cache issues.
